Can you say FUNDRAISER?
It’s that time of year again! Winter is here and some unfortunate fees come along with it.
Since leaving Team Canada, I funded all of my training by myself. Up until this trip to Korea, I've been responsible for paying for my training. I worked two jobs on top of training just to make ends meet.
In 2014-15, I was more than fortunate enough to get help from my community when I needed it the most. I crowdsourced an entire season by the generosity of my community. I was beyond thrilled to know that there were so many people around me who wanted to support my goals.
Unfortunately, luge is an expensive extracurricular activity and between working both jobs, eating, sleeping, and training, I simply didn't have enough time for anything else. I spent quite some time thinking about ways I could raise money for this Olympic season...
...and then, I came across the folks at Teespring.
Starting October 28, I will release 3 different T-shirt designs. The designs should fit anyone from babies, little lugers, even all the way up to bobsledder-sized people! There are plenty of colors, too! The shirts are made to order and will print every three days. Place your order and the folks at Teespring will ship your goods in a few days.
The campaign will run until the end of the Olympic Trials (December 17th).
The best part about this fundraiser is that 1) you get acool shirt and 2) the proceeds go directly to funding my season.
Post a photo in your new shirt and use the hashtag #johncan18 to enter to win a USA Luge prize pack including a 50 dollar Visa gift card!
Let's get this party started! Check out the goods here:
